AWARD FOR THE TABLE OLIVE

The table olive, as a welcome to the table, as an appetizer, as an ingredient in salad, pizza and many recipes, but also in drinks and cocktails, is a constant value in the Mediterranean diet, as well as in the cuisines of many regions of the world.

The quality and taste of the table olive depends and is determined by the variety of the olive tree, its maturity at harvest and the processing it has undergone. Its particular gustatory characteristics, positive and negative, can be perceived through the smell, the taste and the sensation that the fruit leaves in the mouth, such as its crispness.

Experienced tasters evaluate each olive and place it in the respective categories – a process which will reveal the winners of the competition.

They can participate:

Olive standardization/trading businesses of any legal form, Cooperative Organizations and Producer Groups that market branded standardized table olives.

Application deadline: Friday, October 25, 2024

Award Categories:

  • green olives either processed in alkaline solutions
  • natural green olives
  • natural ripe (black) olivesnatural dehydrated or wrinkled or shrunken olives
  • olives blackened by oxidation in brine and
  • olive blends – other cases.

Participation fee 100 euros, plus VAT, per sample.

The amount due, as the case may be, can be deposited into the following bank accounts with the indication:
